FAQ

Frequently asked questions about push pop tubes

What is a sushi push pop?

A sushi push pop is a maki roll placed in a cylindrical tube. The customer pushes the roll up from the bottom and eats it piece by piece, without chopsticks or a plate. The format started in New York and has spread to restaurants around the world.

Do you sell sushi or packaging?

Packaging. We sell empty push pop tubes to restaurants, caterers and food producers – you make the sushi.

What sizes are available?

Tubes come in different diameters and lengths. The right size depends on your roll – tell us your maki diameter and how many pieces you want per tube, and we will recommend the right tube.

What are the tubes made of, and are they food-safe?

The tubes are made from food-grade cardboard, and the inner lining can be chosen to suit your product – for example paper, PE coating or aluminium foil. Ask for the material specification and compliance documents with your quote.

Can you print our logo on the tube?

Yes. Choose a neutral standard tube or one printed with your logo and design. Quantities and lead times for custom print are agreed in the quote.

What is the minimum order?

It depends on whether you want standard or printed tubes. Custom print has a higher minimum. You will find the exact quantity and price in your quote.

How fast do you deliver?

Lead time depends on quantity and on whether the tubes are standard or printed. We confirm the exact lead time in the quote.

Can we get a sample before ordering?

Get in touch and ask for a sample – that way you can check before a larger order that the tube fits your roll and your kitchen workflow.

How do you fill the tube?

Make the roll as usual, pre-slice it and slide it into the tube. Pre-slicing matters so customers can bite off pieces easily. For soy sauce, offer a separate pipette or small cup.

Are push pops suitable for takeaway and delivery?

Yes. The tube keeps the roll in shape and is compact. As with any sushi, keep the cold chain and sell on the same day.

Does the tube contain plastic?

The tube itself is cardboard, but a PE-coated lining contains plastic. If you want a plastic-free option, ask for a paper or foil lining and check the single-use packaging rules that apply where you sell.
